I am terribly sorry for the extended site outage over last couple of hours!

I was trying to make a backup for site update.. and in the effect, I locked the whole site out from it’s database. Since the site is located on a commercial web hosting service, the only thing I could do was to request a database restore, hoping that it would clear the problem. The only problem with that – the admin staff already left and the request wouldn’t be processed until next day!

In fact, it has not been processed until after 12:30 next day, when I decided to make a new database for the site, using a backup of the old.

I only wish I came up with that solution earlier!

And for that lack of imagination that should have not occured to a professional admin, I am deeply sorry.

[Edit] The gallery plugin we’ve been using has not been maintained for a long time and this site upgrade broke it. Please excuse it’s broken state while we search for a better one!

[Edit] The gallery is working again! Unfortunately there are only three images to show off at the moment. Maybe you could help changing that?

We are back in business!

The whole ordeal seems to have been caused by rather nasty piece of SQL-injection comment spam message. I have cleared it out and upgraded the blog, so hopefully we won’t get hit by anything anytime soon.

One thing I must say: I wish all php software was that well behaved as WordPress is!

Due to the problems I had with updating, I am, with much regret, resigning from the job of keeper of Aslaug’s site..
